Creating the perfect morning makeup routine

Mornings can be rushed and hectic, with little to no attention given to your skin care and makeup routine. However, if you’re going to have a long day, you want your face to look prepared and fresh all day too, right?

We’ve put together a step-by-step guide to have you looking like a boss woman (or man) every morning. It may seem long or daunting at first, but it’s actually pretty easy!

  1. Prep your skin

Wash, tone, and moisturize your skin when you wake up. This easy CTM routine is  a must each day. Then, go on to generously apply SPF before you put on make-up, to protect your skin from harmful UV rays of the sun. You can use Dermacol’s Water Resistant Sun Cream for the best protection.

  2. Primer

Using a primer like Dermacol’s White Magic Blurring Active Primer smooths your skin for better make-up application. It fills out any unevenness and reduces pore visibility, so your foundation can be layered on without any hassle, and you get a flawless make-up look. Apply a light layer of primer on your skin with clean fingers, and get ready for Step 3!

  3. Cover & conceal

It’s time for the base cover for your day’s make up. Use the Dermacol Makeup Cover as your foundation, because of its high pigmentation and flawless, blemish-free look. If you have more visible scarring, spots, or dark circles, use a concealer closest to your skin shade to cover it up. The Perfect Me Corrector can give you a perfect, flawless look with ease!

  4. Set your base

Once your foundation is in place, seal it in with some Invisible Fixing Powder. This will ensure that your skin remains matte, and your makeup doesn’t wear off through the day. Use a makeup brush to apply the powder, focusing on your T-zone.

  5. Blush

Give your cheeks a subtle, rosy pink blush after your base is set. Focus on the apple of your cheeks – the part that pops out when you smile wide. The Blush and Glow Cream Blush is seamless and long lasting, which will give you the fresh look you might be looking for.

  6. Bronzer

A bronzer, applied lightly, can give you a sun-kissed, glowing look. Even if you have pale skin, Bronzing Powder Pearls can give you a deep, tanned look. If you have a lighter skin tone, you might want to consider using the Sheer Bronze Illuminator.

  7. Highlighter

Bring focus on to your high points by using Dermacol’s Illuminating Palette. Be sure to focus on the tip of your nose, your cheekbones, Cupid’s Bow, and above your eyebrows.

  8. Lashes & Liner

Eyes are the window to the soul – so make yours stand out. Use the Ultra Black Eyeliner on your top lid, and wing it if you feel adventurous! Show your lashes some love, and volumnise them with the Imperial Mascara.

  9. Eyebrows

Shaping your brows is a subtle trick that brings shape and focus to your face. Use the Waterproof Eyebrow Mascara to fill and shape your eyebrows subtly. It will help to make your eyebrows look sleek or bold depending on how you want to look that day.

  10. Finishing touches

No look is complete without the lips. Use the Matte Mania lip colours to go bold or quiet, depending on your preferences. You can even use Plumping lip gloss over it to make your lips look juicy and fuller.

  11. These steps, when done regularly, will come naturally and with ease. Choose your look for the day with our wide range of makeup products, and make a different choice each day!
